General Internal Medicine is the branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Internists expertly treat the wide variety of illnesses and conditions that affect the adult population, and carefully monitor the complex treatment of multiple issues in a patient at one time. Since they are responsible for an intense level of comprehensive care, Internists are trained in-depth on caring for and collaborating on diverse and challenging patient problems.
