Lauren Erwin

Nurse Practitioner

Lauren Seegers Erwin, APRN, ANP-BC, has been a nurse practitioner since 2009. She is from Monroe, Louisiana.

Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Birmingham-Southern College and her master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She is board-certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

What area of the healthcare field interests you most?
Over the course of my career, I have worked in internal medicine, palliative care, infectious disease and now population health. My passion for patient education has drawn me to each of these roles. When patients and their families develop a solid understanding of their health conditions and risks, they are better able to advocate for themselves and work together with their healthcare team to make choices that align with their goals and improve their quality of life.

What do you enjoy most about your job with AHG’s Population Health Department?
I love being a part of our Population Health team because every member works together to make a difference for our patient population. From the nurse practitioner and tech teams seeing patients in their homes to the outreach specialists calling members to provide information about and access to our services, as well as our office staff and leadership team who keep everything running smoothly and provide our patients with the information they need after the visits … every role is necessary in achieving our shared goal of health promotion in our community.

What are some personal details about yourself you’d like to include?
I enjoy spending time with my family and am very active in my church. I am a novice home gardener, having picked up the hobby during the pandemic. My patio garden is mostly full of hardy herbs and other determined survivors!
