Emily Crooks

Nurse Practitioner

Emily Crooks is from Monroe, Louisiana, and has been a nurse practitioner since 2003.

Emily earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and her master’s degree in nursing from Grambling State University. She is board-certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

What area of the healthcare field interests you most?
Throughout my years as a nurse practitioner, I’ve worked in many areas, including primary care, pulmonary, critical care, long-term care and population health. My experience in each area has greatly contributed to my passion for serving the elderly. Hearing their words of wisdom, life stories and challenges has truly helped shape my view of healthcare.

What do you enjoy most about your job in AHG’s Population Health Department?
I’ve had the privilege of experiencing the growth and progression of population health over the past 10 plus years. It’s been very rewarding to see how our team has been able to scale our services to improve the lives of Louisianians statewide. We have an amazing team of providers who share a passion for preventive patient care.

What are some personal details about yourself you’d like to include?
I enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, working out and spending time with my family.
