The Watchman is a procedure for people with atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation is a common arrythmia that increases a person’s risk for stroke and affects your heart’s ability to pump blood normally. For patients who are not able to take blood thinners, the watchman procedure may be able to help.

You may be a candidate for the watchman procedure if:

  • You have atrial fibrillation and are unable to take blood thinners
  • You are at risk for stroke
  • You have a history of diabetes
