Watchman Procedure in Monroe LA

Watchman

At Affinity Cardiology, we work to optimize your cardiac care and offer you the best treatment options available, like the Watchman - a minimally invasive, one-time procedure that reduces your risk for stroke.

The Watchman is a small device placed into the left atrial appendage (LAA). It is designed to permanently close the LAA and keep blood clots from escaping.

The Watchman is a procedure for people with atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation is a common arrythmia that increases a person’s risk for stroke and affects your heart’s ability to pump blood normally. For patients who are not able to take blood thinners, the watchman procedure may be able to help.

You may be a candidate for the watchman procedure if:

  • You have atrial fibrillation and are unable to take blood thinners
  • You are at risk for stroke
  • You have a history of diabetes

Think the Watchman procedure might be right for you?
